Rules for Pilots of Recreational Drones

If you are flying your drone not for commercial purposes, you have to keep in mind a couple of things:

  • Before taking off, check if it is allowed to fly there using Drone Pilot app
  • Comply with the national regulations on unmanned aircraft systems
  • Fly a drone that is equipped with safe landing technology in the case of emergency
  • Label your drone with your name, address, and phone number
  • If your drone weighs more than 1.5 kg, have liability coverage and additional third-party liability insurance
  • VLOS - you must be able to see your drone all the time
  • Keep a safe distance from people and property. Do NOT fly closer than 50 meters from other people and property if your drone weighs more than 250 g
  • If you are under 18 years old, an adult has to be there with you monitoring the flight
  • You are not allowed to fly over an altitude of 150 meters
  • It is not allowed to operate your drone at night or in low visibility
